AERONET Instrument Troubleshooting Interface - Solutions for WET SENSOR NOT RESPONDING Flag

Description
Unlike the Constant Humidity Status flag , this flag indicates the wet sensor has stopped reporting any status at all. A completely unresponsive sensor means the instrument has no rain detection capability, so if precipitation occurs the instrument may continue making measurements with an exposed optical path, potentially letting water into the collimator or sensor head.

Condition(s)
Flag if no humidity status (h) reports are given in one month and more than 50% of the Level 1.0 data are removed by cloud screening

How To Check/Test
Models 4 and 5: VIEW > BAT > red button (HH 0 = dry, HH 1 = wet)
Model T: MEASURES > Wetting

Solution Level 1 (< 5 minutes)
1. Ensure wet sensor is secured and gold grid is facing upwards.
2. Ensure gold sensing contacts are clean.
3. Check the connector and HH port for wetness or corrosion

Solution Level 2 (more involved)
1. Reseat connector panel.
2. Try a different wet sensor and/or connector panel.

Solution Level 3 (last resort)
1. Replace wet sensor or other fault components.
